Arab Video Chat in Arabic, English or Both

On Cafe you video chat with Arab women one on one, for free: you and her, both cameras on, live from the first second. It works like any good conversation in person. One of you says hello, the other answers, and you find out what you have in common.

Language matters less than you might think. Arabic is the shared language of the Arab world, but it lives in many regional forms, and English and French are taught widely across the region. A call can run in English, move between Arabic and English in the same sentence, or stay in Arabic from start to finish if you speak it yourself.

You do not need to speak a word of it to have a good Arabic video chat. One marhaba, said with a smile, shows that you made an effort, and asking her to correct your pronunciation is one of the easiest ways to get a real conversation going.

If you want to know more about the format itself, our 1v1 video chat page explains how a call between two people runs on Cafe.

Women on Your Screen: How the Gender Filter Works

The gender filter is how you talk with women on Cafe. Turn it on, press start, and the person who joins your call is a woman. It is the only paid feature on Cafe, and it runs on coins rather than a subscription, so there is no monthly plan to cancel later.

Every new account starts with 125 free coins, which is enough to try the filter before you decide anything. You can use Cafe without the filter and without an account at all, and you never enter a card just to start a call.

Matching itself is random, so each press of start brings someone new. With the filter on, the next person is a woman too, and if a call is not going anywhere, skipping is free and unlimited.

For a closer look at the setting itself, see our video chat with girls page, which follows it from the switch to the first call.

Start a Live Arab Video Call in Three Steps

Getting to a live call takes three steps. Nothing needs installing on a computer, and the whole thing runs in your browser.

  1. 1

    Press start

Open Cafe in a browser or in the Android app and press start. There is no form to fill in and no username to pick.

  2. 2

    Allow camera and microphone

Your browser asks once. Say yes, check that your face is in the light, and you are ready for the first hello.

  3. 3

    Say marhaba

Within seconds you are matched with a real, verified person. Greet her in any language, or skip to the next call.

The large digits are Eastern Arabic numerals, used in much of the Middle East. Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia mostly write the digits you already know.

A call has no time limit, so a conversation that is going well can run as long as you both like. When it ends, press start again and the next call opens just as quickly.

One Language, Many Voices: Arabic Dialects You May Hear

Arabic comes in two layers. Modern Standard Arabic, often called Fusha, is the written standard shared from Morocco to Oman: the Arabic of newspapers, books and the evening news. Everyday conversation happens in regional dialects, and the board below asks one simple question in five of them.

How are you? Asked to a woman

Modern Standard
كيف حالكِ؟
kayfa ḥāluki?
News, books, formal speech
Levantine
كيفِك؟
kīfik?
Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine
Egyptian
إزيِّك؟
izzayyik?
Egypt, and understood widely
Gulf
شلونچ؟
shlōnich?
The Gulf states, including Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar
Maghrebi
لاباس؟
labās?
Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia

Latin spellings are simplified, and every region has local variations of its own. If she answers in a form that is not on this board, ask her to teach it to you.

Four of the five forms on the board are the ones you would use with a woman, because Arabic changes the ending of a word depending on who you are talking to. In the standard language you ask a woman kayfa haluki, while kayfa haluka is the form for a man. The Maghrebi labās is the exception: it stays the same for anyone.

Egyptian Arabic is understood far beyond Egypt, thanks to decades of Egyptian films and television. Levantine Arabic is spoken in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine, Gulf Arabic in the Gulf states, and Maghrebi Arabic in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, where it mixes freely with French and Amazigh words. Dialects at opposite ends of the Arab world can be hard for each other's speakers to follow, which is one reason Fusha still matters.

Because French is so present in the Maghreb, a conversation with a woman from Algiers or Casablanca may slip into French without warning. If you speak French, Cafe works just as well for you: free, on camera, and in whichever language the two of you share.

Arabic Greetings That Come with a Ready Reply

Arabic greetings often come in pairs: a set phrase and a set answer, and the answer is often a little warmer than the greeting. Knowing the reply matters as much as knowing the greeting, because it is usually the first thing you hear back.

As-salamu alaykum, peace be upon you, is heard across the Arab world, and the answer is wa alaykum as-salam, and upon you peace. Marhaba and ahlan are the relaxed everyday hellos, and ahlan wa sahlan is the warm way to say welcome. Morning greetings play with light: sabah al-khayr, a morning of goodness, is answered with sabah an-nur, a morning of light.

Once you are past hello, a good early question is how she writes her name in Arabic. It shows interest in her as a person, and it gives her the chance to teach you something instead of answering the same questions she hears on every call.

Say it, and hear it back

Arabic in Latin Letters, with Numbers in Between

Online, many Arabic speakers write their language with Latin letters instead of Arabic script. The style is called Arabizi, sometimes Franco-Arabic, and it grew up on phone keyboards and computers that had no Arabic letters on them.

Arabic has sounds that English spelling has no letter for, so numbers stand in for them, picked because they look a little like the Arabic letter. A 3 is the deep ayn at the start of 3arabi, Arabic, and a 7 is the breathy h in the middle of mar7aba, hello. If a name or a word ever reaches you written this way, now you can read it.

Arabic script itself runs from right to left, with letters that join up and change shape depending on where they sit in a word. Numbers are the exception: inside an Arabic sentence they are still read from left to right, which is easy to miss at first.

Numbers that stand for letters

2ء
hamza, a short catch in the throat
so2al: question
3ع
ayn, from deep in the throat
3arabi: Arabic
5خ
kha, like ch in Scottish loch
5alas: done, that is it
7ح
ha, a breathy h
mar7aba: hello

Good Conversation, Wherever She Is Calling From

The Arab world spans more than twenty countries across North Africa and West Asia, and the women in it are as different from one another as anyone else. A woman in Casablanca and a woman in Amman may share a language family and very little about their daily lives, so let her tell you who she is instead of guessing.

Ask about her day, the city she lives in, the music playing in the background or the word she is teaching you. Personal subjects such as faith or family are hers to bring up, not yours, and remarks about her looks do not belong in a first call at all.

If either of you wants the call to end, skip and move on; nobody owes anyone a reason. Cafe has 24/7 moderation by AI and human reviewers, working between calls and on reports, so anyone who crosses a line can be reported and dealt with.

Privacy on Every Call: Encrypted and Never Recorded

A first conversation with someone new should stay between the two of you, and on Cafe it does. Calls are end to end encrypted and never recorded, so no copy of the call exists for anyone to watch later, and nobody watches it while it happens.

The connection runs peer to peer, and your IP address is not shown to the person you are talking with. Because you can talk without an account, there is no profile with your name or photo for anyone to look up, and if you ever buy coins, the line on your card statement stays discreet.

Each of these protections is explained in more detail on our private video chat page, in plain language.

What she sees

  • Your face and your voice
  • Whatever you choose to tell her

What she never sees

  • Your IP address
  • Your name, unless you share it
  • A recording of the call: none is made

Free Arab Video Chat, and What Coins Are For

Free means exactly that on Cafe. Pressing start, talking, skipping and calls with no time limit cost nothing, and there is no subscription or membership to sign up for. The only thing coins pay for is the gender filter, and a new account gets 125 coins to begin with.

Cafe is also not an Arab cam site. Arab cams and live cam pages usually mean one person streaming to a room of viewers who type in a chat box. On Cafe there is no audience: two cameras, two people, one conversation, and nobody else watching.

Our cam to cam page explains how a call with both cameras on works from start to finish.

Everything that stays free on every call is gathered on our free video chat page in one short list.

Arab Video Call App or Browser: Phone and Computer

Cafe works in the browser on a phone or a computer, so a call can start from whichever screen is closest. There is nothing to download: open the site, press start and allow the camera.

On Android you can also use the Cafe app from Google Play. There is no iOS app, but on an iPhone Cafe runs in Safari or any other browser, with the same calls and the same filter. A computer with a webcam works just as well, and headphones help in a busy room.

Wherever you open it, Cafe is busy: tens of thousands of people use it every day, from more than 100 countries.

Pages for meeting women from other parts of the world are collected under video chat with women in the Meet section.

Video Chat with Arab Women: Your Questions

The short version, for anyone about to press start.

Can I video chat with Arab women on Cafe?

Yes. Cafe connects you with verified real users, Arab women included, and with the gender filter on, the person you are matched with is a woman. Every call is live and one on one.

Is Arab video chat on Cafe free?

Yes. Calls, skips and talking without an account are free, with no subscription and no time limit. Coins are used only for the gender filter, and every new account receives 125 of them.

Do I need to speak Arabic?

No. A call can run in English or any language you share, and switching between languages mid sentence is normal. A greeting such as marhaba or ahlan is a friendly start, and she can help you with the rest.

Is there an Arab video call app?

There is an Android app on Google Play, and Cafe also runs in any phone or computer browser. On an iPhone, open it in Safari, since there is no iOS app, and you get the same calls.

Are the people on Cafe real?

Yes. Cafe admits only verified real users to calls. Anyone who seems fake or crosses a line can be reported, and AI and human moderators review reports around the clock.

Are calls recorded or watched?

Neither. Each call is encrypted end to end and no recording is made, and nobody looks in while you talk. Moderation acts between calls and on reports, and the other person never sees your IP address.

What is a good first thing to say?

A simple hello in Arabic or English, then a question about her day or her city. Let her decide what she wants to share, and leave personal topics for later, if they come up at all.

How quickly will I be connected?

Matching takes a few seconds. Skipping costs nothing and has no limit, so a call that does not click is never a problem.

Who can use Cafe Video Chat?

Anyone who is not a minor. Pressing start means you accept the Terms, and you can begin without an account and without installing anything on a computer.
