The terms name Social Media Ventures LLC of Sheridan, Wyoming, as operator, and Wyoming law governs them. Outside the EEA, Switzerland and the UK, disputes go to binding individual arbitration and class actions are waived. On Google Play the app is listed under SMV Co. with more than 10 million downloads.

Read side by side, its terms of service match those of Chatrandom, CamSurf, Camgo and Flingster almost line for line, and the privacy policies are closer still, although Chatspin's documents name a different operating company from theirs. One shared clause says your activity may be processed and shown on sites or apps run by partners on the same chat platform.

Is Chatspin Free? What Plus Costs

Talking is free, with limits. Guests get random video and text chat, masks and the safety tools, and a free account adds a country filter that Chatspin says covers more than 70 countries. Its pricing table marks unlimited matches as a Plus feature and puts a daily limit in the free column, where a few in-app promotions also appear. Choosing the gender of your match is Plus only.

Plus comes in three shapes with the same features. The trial week costs 7.99 USD and then renews at 29.99 USD a month; the one-month plan is 19.99 USD a month; the six-month plan works out at 14.99 USD a month, billed as 89.94 USD every six months. Each one adds the gender filter, unlimited matches, an intro message, private chat, a VIP badge and a batch of tokens on day one.

Some of this is done well. Prices are published before you pay, renewals are announced by email three days ahead, you cancel in Settings without calling anyone, and SegPay or Stripe bill discreetly. Tokens cannot be bought, apart from the bonus that comes with a plan, so the reward boxes are not a second way to spend.

What Chatspin Watches and Keeps

Chatspin samples your chats. Its safety page says automated systems sample video and text chats around the clock, and the terms say software and human moderators review limited parts of user activity, including random chat samples, flagged sessions and metadata. Its documents disagree on what that data can train. The terms say moderation samples are never used for unrelated AI model training, while the privacy policy says data may be analysed with machine learning and large language models, including training them or sharing with third parties for model training. Your approximate location may also be shown to the people you meet unless you hide it in settings.

How long anything is kept is left open: data stays as long as reasonably necessary, and after an account closes, hashed identifiers can be held to stop banned users from signing up again. The privacy policy also warns that chats sent to or from the service may not be secure.

Some of this works in your favour. The safety tools are free for guests and members alike, reports are confidential, and Chatspin says it has no public profiles, bios or searchable chat history. The terms also rule out using moderation samples for advertising or behavioural profiling.
