What Was ChatHub?

ChatHub, often typed as chat hub, was a free random video chat site at chathub.cam that paired you with one stranger at a time on camera. It described itself as working like Omegle: no sign-up, a single start button, and a text box running beside the video.

Its privacy policy, dated 6 February 2019, said user data was transferred to Japan and processed there, and the site ran in English, Spanish, Japanese and Korean. The terms were a generic template with the company name and governing law left blank, so no archived page says who ran it. The page itself loaded Google ads and Stripe payment code.

It is not running now. ChatHub closed in March 2024, so anyone looking for ChatHub 1v1 chat today finds either a dead address or a site that has borrowed the name. The sections below cover how it closed, which Hub is which, and where its users can go instead.

The Home Screen App and the 4 Cam Mode

ChatHub never had an app in the App Store or on Google Play. Its home page told phone users to open the browser menu and tap Add to Home Screen, which saved a full screen shortcut. Two features set it apart from plain roulette. A 4 Cam Mode showed four partners at once so you could choose one, though only for women looking for men, and the start screen let you join as a group rather than alone. A No Multiple Match switch stopped familiar faces from turning up twice.

What Happened to ChatHub?

It shut down, and without warning. The Wayback Machine shows the chat loading as usual on 5 March 2024; by 25 March the page held only a notice: "We regret to inform you that our service has shut down." The same notice said every active subscription had been cancelled and refunded, with the money due back within 5 to 10 business days.

No reason was given. The closure came four months after Omegle ended on 8 November 2023, and ChatHub had long sold itself as a site that works like Omegle. Some blogs date ChatHub's end to December 2023, but the archive still shows its start screen in March 2024, so March is the month the evidence supports.

The address no longer serves ChatHub at all. On 28 September 2026 the secure version of chathub.cam refused connections, and the plain version returned the home page of Northants Tools, a Northampton supplier of tiling tools. Nothing at chathub.cam today has anything to do with video chat.

For former subscribers, the 2024 refund was the only remedy the notice offered, and the contact page showed the same notice by April. The bigger issue now is the name. Other sites use it with no tie to the original, and apps with similar names catch people who half remember it, which is where the confusion starts.

Why People Look for an Alternative to ChatHub

Was ChatHub free? For talking, yes, with a paid tier on top, but money is not why people are searching now. The model is paid one-to-one calling. A ChillHub video call is paid for with tokens bought after you open an account, and tokens also buy gifts which, the terms say, carry monetary value the receiving user can collect as credits and withdraw. Its home page sells ChillHub 1v1 calls as chats with girls online, so the person opposite may be earning from what you spend. Voxhub 1v1 calls follow the same rules, and every token and gift sale is final.

ChillHub's privacy policy asks for far more than ChatHub ever did. It lists GPS location, device identifiers such as the IMEI number, location taken from your SIM card, advertising identifiers and, if you allow it, your contacts. An optional face check compares your profile picture with a short video, which the policy says is not kept. Everything else is held for as long as the account exists.

Their own pages also disagree about size. ChillHub's home page claims more than 2 million active users in over 150 countries, its About page says up to 300 million daily users in up to 80 countries, and its terms still mention Tigo and Twitch, text carried over from other apps.
